Tips on how to stop waiting for January or Monday to start your journey
Have you waited until Monday to make a change in your life? Do you set goals each month instead of setting them right now? Don’t worry, we have all been there- we’re only human. We tend to try and push things out, to give ourselves more time, to wait for ‘motivation’ to kick in or want to feel a sense of a refresh. The downside of all this, the further you distance yourself from whatever change/habit you make, the further you will be from your goal. Have you felt like this before?
One of our enemies in this case is procrastination. I can put my hand up and say I am a big procrastinator. But, I’m here to help you (and me too!) with these simple thoughts and tips to consider when you’re thinking of postponing your goal.
1 Easy Start
The first step is always the hardest. But, it doesn’t have to be a big one. Make that first step so easy that it’s approachable. For example, if you’re anxious about joining a gym, contact the gym to book a trial. This is a small but massive step to us all but it’s a small step in the right direction.

2 Rewards
Procrastination usually stems from my negative/anxious emotions. What about creating a reward or treat for when you complete a task. It could be as simple as buying some activewear to the gym or treating yourself to a chocolate bar. Have something in place to provide a ‘congratulations, you did it’ moment.

3 Manifest
If you know once you complete the task(s), that there will be something worthwhile, keep manifesting and thinking of the outcome. Your outcome should be your motivation, no matter how many ups and downs you have to get there. Trust the process and know you can get there if you believe you can.
4 Plan
Sometimes we can create a plan and then feel overwhelmed or feel like it’s not achievable. If so, change it up! Change the layout, size of tasks, deadlines or what can be adjusted. By reframing your plan, it might attract you to begin sooner than you thought.

5 Support
It doesn’t matter how big or small your change, plan or task might be, just know, there is always someone there to support you. Never feel like you’re on your own and know that there is always someone to help guide you in the right direction. It could be a friend, a partner or a coach in the area. Find someone who could best help you in what area you need help in.
If you’re looking to begin your fitness journey, let me be that support system. I understand and I know how you might feel if you’re lost or unsure where to begin. As I said, make the first small step and get in touch and we’ll work out a plan, together.
